Waypoint is developed and operated by Garrett Elias. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile information from Google.
Trip and waypoint data
We store the content you create in the app: trip names, waypoint names, coordinates, shooting time windows, and notes. This data is associated with your account and stored securely in the cloud.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to provide the app's functionality:
- To create and maintain your account
- To store and sync your trips and waypoints across sessions
- To send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
Third-Party Services
Supabase — provides database and authentication infrastructure. Your data is stored on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy
Resend — delivers transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset) from noreply@mail.waypoint.photo. Resend Privacy Policy
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — provides map tiles and location search. When you search for a location, your search query is sent to Nominatim. No personal information is transmitted. OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy
Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You may delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at contact@waypoint.photo. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Waypoint is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
